Light Party Resources 2020

This year we are unable to collectively gather for any alternative Halloween activities. Therefore we have collated a few ideas for familes to do together with a Christian perspective.

The Light Party Pack 2020 contains everything you need to share the Light of Jesus with the children and young people in your community this Halloween. It might not be possible to hold a Light Party in the usual way this year, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. This pack contains a selection of our best Light Party activities from previous years, with advice on how they can be adapted and reworked so that you can use them at a physically distanced gathering, online or in public spaces.

The video is based on the SU booklet ‘Who is the Light?’. After introducing different sources of light and thinking about the effects of light are, children are encouraged to reflect on the words of Jesus when he describes himself as ‘the light of the world’. It is ideal for use around Halloween or throughout the winter months. The accompanying PDF (click on the picture below) gives suggestions for activities and discussion questions that will help children to explore the video theme and Bible passage.
