Sunday 26th July - Spotlight Prayers

Sunday 26th July – Seventh Sunday after Trinity

Lord of all power and might,
the author and giver of all good things:
graft in our hearts the love of your name,
increase in us true religion,
nourish us with all goodness,
and of your great mercy keep us in the same;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

  1. Pray for our Church Choir, give thanks for their dedication and enthusiasm over the years for leading us during our Services.
  2. Lord we pray for the future of our country in this pandemic.  We ask that our government be wise in the plans to come out of lockdown.  We pray that everyone will be sensible and obey the recommendations and we ask that these strange times might soon be over.
  3. Lord we pray for our village and community at this difficult time.  We give thanks that we have not suffered as much as some others, and we ask that more visitors coming into the area will not put our community more at risk. We pray that those who visit us be wise and follow guidelines and sensible practices.
  4. Pray for the Day Centre for the Elderly which normally meets every Friday in the Village Hall.  Pray for all the guests who enjoy the company and friendships of the group and hope that this can resume shortly after the Coronavirus outbreak.  Also pray for all the volunteers who enable this event to take place.
  5. Please pray for our church family during August.  Pray that we may each seek to keep Jesus at the centre of our lives and learn to do things in His strength and not our own.
  6. Pray for all who live in Church Lane and Auckland Place.

Prayer Verse

James 5:13-14  Are any among you suffering? They should pray. Are any cheerful? They should sing songs of praise. Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord.

Prayer Idea

Ask God to show you who and what to pray for
