Tony modestly describes himself as an ‘old soldier’ of the church: someone who has a strong sense of duty, a desire to operate in all weathers, is cheerful in adversity, ever-ready to serve and skilled in moving furniture. His humble and moving account takes him from a Cotswolds childhood to overseas service in Africa and the Middle East, which includes service as a Lay Reader in the Archdiocese of Jerusalem and a leading role in planting a thriving, enduring church community in Dubai. His talk is preceded by Ros reading Psalm 84.
