I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God.
Bend down and listen as I pray.
Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways.
By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies.

Lord Jesus,
My enemies are my recurring sins and weaknesses:
   the need to be appreciated,
   the difficulty in loving others as they are,
   my tendency to be unkind and critical,
   and there are more!
Please help me to stop and recognise my sin,
   to be truly sorry for the pain it costs you and others,
   to be properly grateful for your sacrifice for me,
   and with your help please give me a change of heart. Amen.
