A prayer of confession
Generous God,
Forgive us when we are short-sighted and blind to the needs of others;
Forgive us when we are hard-hearted and calculate what we are prepared to share;
Forgive us when we are mean-spirited and live in ways that suit our own interests
   rather than those of others;
Forgive us when we selfishly follow the values of the world,
   rather than the principles of your kingdom.

Out of love, Christ lived for us
Out of love, Christ died for us
Out of love, Christ forgives us
Out of love, Christ says ‘Follow me’.
