Caring for our Church Grounds & Helping Nature to Thrive
The Eco Church Team have joined up with the Church Grounds maintenance team and Greener Brockenhurst to help care for our church grounds and to work on making as much space for nature to thrive as possible.
We meet at 9:30am on the third Wednesday of most month. Do come and join us – You would be most welcome. Please email ecochurch@brockenhurstchurch.com to check on our schedule
In both our churches we are committed to creating and maintaining a sustainable, nature-friendly environment that encourages biodiversity and enhances the natural beauty of our church grounds that can be enjoyed by the congregation and our visitors alike.
Our key objectives for managing the church grounds are:
- To provide a welcoming and tranquil open area for the congregation, the local community and visitors to enjoy
- To provide a haven for wildlife and to encourage biodiversity
- To provide easy and visually pleasing access to the church
- To promote sustainable gardeneing paractices that reduce our environmental impact to our congregation and local commmunity
- To educate and engage our congregation and the local community in nature conservation efforts
- To be sustainable in the long term in terms of the amount of effort and funding required to meet our objectives.
