Blessing – is simply the activity of raising things to their proper status before God.

Baptism is a blessing on a child – showing its full value before God
In Holy Communion the bread and wine are blessed and we receive them as holy.
At the end of a service we are blessed as God’s children.
In marriage a couple are blessed as a union that is honoured by God.
