This year we are celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the birth of the Mothers’ Union by Mary Sumner, in Old Alresford, near Winchester. In Brockenhurst, we are celebrating throughout August with a ‘planted garden display’ of knitted and crocheted flowers in blue, yellow and white (Mothers’ Union colours) in the grounds of St. Saviour’s Church. There will also be a display of flowers in St. Saviour’s Church on Monday 31 August as part of the Brockival Carnival and Fete event, and a celebration service at 2.30 on Thursday 20 August in St. Saviour’s Church.
