This special weekend began with the Ordination of Priests at Winchester Cathedral on Saturday afternoon, when following her year as Deacon, Lisa, our Curate, was ordained to priest.  She will continue to serve Brockenhurst, Boldre and South Baddesley as Curate and will now be able to celebrate at Holy Communion services, baptisms, weddings, funerals etc.  The service was presided over by the Bishop of Winchester, with the sermon given by The Right Reverend Simon Robinson.

On Sunday morning, in a service led by the Bishop of Winchester, our lovely Mel (former Children and Families Worker) was one of 16 men and women from across the diocese who were ordained as Deacon.  She will be taking up her new role and continuing her training, in the parish of Eversley and Darby Green in the north of the Diocese.

Many of our clergy and congregation were able to attend the services to support Lisa and Mel and we wish them both well and send love and prayers for them in their new roles.

Both services are available to view on You Tube  –  for Lisa:  06-27-26 (4pm) Ordination of Priests live from Winchester Cathedral) and for Mel:  06-28-26 (10am) Ordination of Deacons live from Winchester Cathedral.
