To correct an historic administrative oversight, the PCC has applied to the Ministry of Justice to formally close the ecclesiastical churchyard at St Nicholas Church because it has no space for new burials.  The closure covers the sloping area from the church itself down to the start of the the lower level area.  This lower area is the Parish Council Burial Ground which is not affected by the closure and will continue to provide facilities as it has done since the 1950s.  Notices giving more detail of the closure and how to comment can be found at both churches and elsewhere in the village or by clicking below:
